Everything in life, at least to me, is completely interchangeable. I guess my mission statement is that I'm looking for something or someone who I can actually consider to be permanent. I doubt it's even really possible.

The Bowels of the Pretentious: I’d really like it if I didn’t have to be anyone right now.

I could just like, float. Aimlessly. And no one could say shit, because as far as they could tell I had life all figured out. Sometimes I wonder what hell or insanity really are—is it just that we stick ourselves in this repetitive cycle, every day like the last? Or is it more the thought that in this cycle we are left completely unprepared for what surrounds us, what lies outside of our system and thus beyond our understanding?

Life of a suburban kid is almost handed to you, in a neat little package like one of those Bento Boxes at sushi restaurants—we’re handed the materials deemed necessary to survive a stable life and we do with them what we can. It’s not even really our choice, even. But who are we to refuse a full packaged deal in this life? 

I guess it depends on the individual, but my thoughts on it kind of gravitate towards these questions: If kids never get the chance to discover that they want these supplies, be it college, a suburban high school, a career path—did we ever truly deserve these things in the first place? I know I sure as hell didn’t ask for a high school education, but in the end I believe I’ve truly come to appreciate it. I guess I just feel like being handed an education is fortunate— people hand this life for you, this plan, and you only have the one choice to follow it. So, for the time being, I guess I’ll follow it.
